Guided Nature Walks Through Sept. 5
Guided Nature Walks by Mt. San Jacinto State Park Volunteers are Saturdays and Sundays through September 5. These walks feature a choice of two easy trails–the Desert View Trail, a 11⁄2-mile route beginning at 11am and the Long Valley Nature Trail, a 3⁄4-mile loop beginning at 1:30pm. No advance registration is required and there is no charge for those with paid admission on the Tramway. Walks begin at the bottom of the concrete ramp.

Summer Fun at
The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens Through Sept. 30
The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens will begin its summer schedule and open an hour earlier for guests to enjoy all the wildlife, gardens and special attractions. Daily hours will be 7am-1:30pm. Hours for the new Australian Adventures, Kraal, and Tennity Wildlife Hospital lobby also will be 7am- 1:30pm daily. The popular giraffe feedings will be available 8am to noon and the new Desert Plant Conservation Center, an exhibit of desert plants ranging from seed to mature floras, remains open during summer hours. Animal chats including pronghorn, cheetah, hornbill, coati, camels, African wild dog, eagles, desert tortoise will return and guests are encouraged to check the daily schedule for exact times.

The Great
American Trailer Park Musical
Explores the relationships between the tenants at the Armadillo Acres Trailer Park in Starke, Florida, particularly between Pippi, “the stripper on the run,” the Dr. Phil-loving agoraphobic, Jeannie, and Jeannie’s tollbooth- collector husband, Norbert. “Armadillo Acres” is a come-as-you-are kind of trailer park, where personalities and predilections might be noisy, but hearts are soft and true.

The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission is hoping to distribute more than 2,500 backpacks to children throughout the Coachella Valley. The Rocky Horror Show Aug. 26-Sept. 12
